Maake Kemoeatu leaves field, injured

In the first half hour of training camp, massive defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu left the practice field on a cart in pain. No word if this is a seriously injury or something small. Reporters on the scene said it looked like the injury was to Kemoeatu's right ankle or leg.

-- Reporters tweeted Kemoeatu's injury right away, and fans began discussing what it could mean for the team on Twitter. Warning: This might be a little thing, a minor injury. We don't know yet.

-- I almost got trampled when I wandered into a defensive drill. Julius Peppers sprinted by me in full pads. Wow, did I feel small and out of shape. The Panthers PR folks ran over and scolded me for ot being on the sidelines. Hey, I was crossing the field with the other photographers. Why does stuff like this always happen to me? See video, bottom.

-- If yesterday began under a dark cloud, with a moody Steve Smith arriving in the drizzle, today it's bright and sunny. The team looks upbeat. One guy was singing on the field in the middle of a play. Not a line or two, like a whole verse. The coaches weren't as light hearted. See top video to catch how the line coaches ride the players in camp.

-- Fans were tweeting from the sidelines about good plays. Fun to see.

-- It's already hot down on the field, and the sun is beating down. I feel for those big linemen by this afternoon.
